Terrestrial environment

Whereas satellite imaging can capture wide coverage imaging of the land cover and vegetation in reflectance, fluorescence lidars have the ability to provide a detailed profile of the vegetation structure. This statistical distribution of leaves and branches have been shovn to correlate with plant health and stress and also preferred habitats for species, both for endangered species and breeding site for, e.g., malaria pests. Fluorescent lidar profiling can also shed light on crop yield and quality.
