Topical Group Seminars

Advanced Diagnostics

Convener: Edouard Berrocal

The Advanced Diagnostics topical group normally meets on the last Monday of each month at 12:15 in the Combustion Physics Library.

Monday November 6, 2017: Dr. Roarke Horstmeyer from the Charité Berlin, Humboldt University, Germany, will give a talk on: “Using computational microscopy to create gigapixel 3D images”

Abstract: This talk will present a method to boost the resolving power of current microscopes to one gigapixel using a technique termed Fourier ptychography. No moving parts or precision controls are needed for this resolution enhancement. The only required hardware is a standard digital microscope and an array of illumination LEDs, while an optimization algorithm does the rest of the work.

Monday December 4, 2017: Dr. Diego Guénot from the Division of Atomic Physics, Lund University, will give a talk on: “Towards application of laser plasma based electron acceleration”

Monday February 5, 2018: Ms. Dina Hot from the Division of Combustion Physics, Lund University, will give a talk on: “Using nonlinear laser techniques for mid-infrared spectroscopy”

Ultrafast and Ultrasensitive Spectroscopy

Convener: Donatas Zigmantas

The Ultrafast and Ultrasensitive Spectroscapy topical group normally meets on the last Tuesday of each month at 11:15.
